Meeting Announcement


The next meeting of the Amherst Railway Society is Tuesday, April 20, 2004, 8:00 P.M. at the Amherst Middle School.

“Through the Years” and “Still They Ride”

Our speaker, Gary Munsey Sr. lives in Pepperell, MA and has worked for Guilford Rail System for the past 16 years currently as a Trains Operation Manager (Train Dispatcher). Besides model railroading and watching and photographing trains, he is into collecting and restoring antique farm tractors, particularly International Harvester Farmall tractors. Gary will be presenting 2 multimedia slide shows. “Through the Years” is a farewell to Conrail tribute, focusing on Conrail from the early 80’s to the last day of Conrail’s main line operations on May 31, 1999. The second show,“Still They Ride”, is about railroad operations of the Guilford Rail System from 1981 to the present day.

Hopefully we won’t have to worry about this for a while. In the event that we have bad weather predicted as we did for our March meeting, you may call the ARS club number . Dues Hike, effective July 1,2004!

If you renew your membership before July 1, 2004, cost will still be $10.00 - 1 yr, $26.00 - 3 yrs, and $40.00 - 5 yrs. After July 1, 2004, the cost will be $15.00 - 1 yr, $40.00 - 3 yrs, and $60.00 - 5 yrs.
