22 Years on the Railroad
By Mr. Gary Guerske

When he was in High School, Mr. Guerske got into the habit of photographing locomotives and trains in and around the New Haven, CT area, a hobby which continued throughout his 22 year career on the railroad. He started working in 1970 on the Penn Central in New Haven and went on to be the first man hired on the new Providence and Worcester RR in 1973. He went on to work for Conrail and retired after 10 years on the Boston & Albany RR. Mr. Guerske is the owner of Bangor & Aroostook caboose #C63 and the private Pullman car Cold Harbor, both parked in Northfield, NH. His slide show will be in and around New Haven, CT and on the Boston & Albany.

One of our members, Glenn Buesing, is promoting the possible restoration of the Claremont & Concord plow # 60, which currently rests in the yard at Steamtown in Scranton, PA. This is a wooden car built in the B & M shop prior to 1910. Glenn is excited about the possibility for members of our society to work together to restore this car. He is working on some aspects of the project and would like to hear from interested people. Please speak to him at the meeting or call him at (413) 283-5715.

Please check the date on your mailing label. If it says 2006, this is the last newsletter you will receive. You must renew soon to be a member in good standing and receive the pass to the show. Dues are $15/ one year, $40/ 3 years and $60/ 5 years.

Please look at the questionnaire at this link re the tape library, fill it out and bring it to the meeting. Thanks

There will be no meeting in December. The next meeting is January 16, 2007.
