Amherst Railway Society September 18, 2001 Meeting Announcement
Welcome to the 2001/2002 season of the Amherst Railway Society. By now you should have received the calendar for the year, listing many exciting programs. The first meeting is September 18th, 2001, 8:00 p.m., at the Amherst Middle School. ATTN: We will meet in the cafeteria, not the auditorium for September, October, and November.
A New England Retrospective: 1966 to 2000 by Brian Jennison
The show will mostly feature the Boston & Maine and Maine Central, including the Guilford era, with some coverage of other New England roads such as CPR, CV, NYC/Conrail, MBTA, shortlines and Amtrak. Presentation will be mostly chronological.
Brian Jennison was born in Massachusetts, and after moving up and down the Atlantic Seaboard during the 1950s and 1960s, he attended both high school and college in Durham, NH, where he became interested in the history and operations of the B&M. Although he left New England in 1972, his heart, roots and family are still here, and he has averaged a trip ÒhomeÓ each year over the past 30, with always something to show for it photographically. Brian currently lives in Springfield, Oregon, where he is Director of the Lane County Regional Air Pollution Authority. He photographs the local Union Pacific, Amtrak and shortline action, and models the B&M in HO scale.
The Board has appointed the following people:
Treasurer: David Royce
Show Director: Bob Buck
Trip Chairman: Doug Moore
Video Librarian: John Randall
Special thanks to the Refreshment Committee whose members have agreed to serve another year.
Joe Cote
Bud Sharrow
