HO Modular Railroad |
The Amherst Belt Lines Modular Railway System is a special interest group of the Amherst Railway Society that coordinates one of the largest HO gauge modular layouts in the Northeast.
The full layout with almost a hundred modules is displayed and operated each year at the Amherst Railway Society's Big Railroad Hobby Show. In addition, selected modules are displayed and operated at other shows around New England. In recent years the layout has been displayed at the Pepperell Siding Model Railroad Show, the Bedford Boomers Show, the Greenberg Great Train and Doll House show, and the Warehouse Point Trolley Museum.
We meet informally in conjunction with the regular monthly meetings of the Amherst Railway Society on the third Tuesday of the month, except, February, July, August and December at 8:00 PM in the auditorium of the Amherst Regional Junior High School, Chestnut Street, Amherst, MA. We have members throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut., and Southern New Hampshire.
While some members have built modules, it is not a requirement. We have many members who come to help set up and operate the miniature railway system. For most shows, we have more than enough modules, but we need modelers who want to operate the trains running on the modules. We also need modelers with rolling stock they would like to display in an operating environment. DCC, Digital Command Control, equipped locomotives are always welcome.
If you are interested in participating in a realistically operated modular railway system, please fill in the form below and click the submit button.
