Happy New Year!

It’s 2004 already, and the show is less than 15 days away, and counting! We hope that everyone had very enjoyable holiday and that your resolutions included finding more time for model railroading. Well, February 7th, and 8th, is highballing right towards us, and we wanted to take the opportunity to send out some reminders as well as last minute information.

Thursday Arrival Times

As a reminder, all modules must be on site by 10:00pm Thursday. If you have an issue prior to Thursday, please contact Alan at his home number. If for some reason an emergency arises on Thursday, please contact one of the coordinators via their cell phone. Please check the copy of Modular Mumblings you got in the mail for their cell phone numbers or email one of the coordinators if you do not have a paper copy of this issue.

Friday Night Meeting

At 6:00pm Friday evening there will be a brief meeting to discuss layout operations and a few other miscellaneous items. Topics will include: The Amherst Belt Lines Rule Book, Special Operating Instructions, DCC Equipment Registration for the 2004 show, Operations Sign-up Sheet, and potentially others. For those willing to hang out and setup, or operate the layout if setup is complete (it’s a nice thought…) there will be pizza and soda.

Saturday Night

Excluding last year, in years past we have haphazardly contacted any restaurant willing to accept a crowd of our size. It worked for a while, but with our crowd growing like it has, there was always a potential for disaster. Last year we celebrated our 25th year with a dinner at the Holiday Inn. Based on feedback we received and the amount of stress it relieves for coordinating a venue that day, we have elected to return there again. Like last year, we have requested our own Gary Munsey to provide a multimedia presentation. This year he will be providing “Dreams”, which features Saluda grade, some street running, and much more!

If you plan to attend the dinner on Saturday night, please RSVP to Clark by February 1st. If you are responding for more than yourself, please be sure to indicate how many are in your party. Email is preferred, but if you don’t have access, just give him a call at the phone number below and leave a message instead.

Email chuber@charter.net (please enter a subject of “Dinner RSVP”)

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

Sudro, Clark and Alan
