Wow ! It's time for the fall show season already. Here's what we have on tap for the next couple of months.
- October 18..19 -- Pepperell Siding show in Townsend, MA. Setup starts Saturday morning and continues into the afternoon. An Operating-Session will follow set-up if time and inclination permits. You do NOT need to bring a module to participate! We do need to know who is coming to participate, especially for Sunday. Contact Alan IMMEDIATELY [Monday Oct 13th at the very latest] by phone or e-mail.
- October 31..Nov 02 -- Bedford Boomer show in Bedford, NH. Setup begins Friday evening at 6pm and continues on Saturday. We want to set-up here as soon as possible. We'll be one branch of a huge layout in the gymnasium and the Boomers like to operate on Saturday afternoon and evening. They also have several well done clinics on Saturday that you may want to attend as well as the live steam layout in the parking lot. Once again you do NOT need to bring a module to participate!! Once again we do need to know WHO is going to participate in this show. Contact Alan by October 17th.
- November 28..30 -- Greenberg show in West Springfield. We provide a 'no, this is not the Amherst show' presence with a small layout. We set it up on Friday and, basically, let two trains do laps. Bring your DC powered equipment to run. Contact Alan by November 8th.
- January 29..February 1, 1998 -- The annual Amherst Railway Society show. That's right.... the show's first day is January 31st!! Setup begins on Thursday afternoon, January 29th at around 1 PM. New modules must be on site by 9PM and all modules must be on-site by 11PM on Thursday, January 29, 1998, at the very latest. Earlier arrival is appreciated. Due to the expected size and location of the 1998 layout there will be no exceptions to the arrival time unless prearranged with Alan well in advance of the show date. Modules can be moved to the Springfield area a week or two ahead of time, if necessary. New modules should be inspected by one of the coordinators prior to the middle of January. Contact Alan for further information on scheduling the inspection. Contact Alan on or prior to January 3, 1998, with your participation intentions.
There's no need to bring a module to participate in any of these activities. We always welcome folks to come and run/operate trains. Cars and locomotives, if command control equipped, are always welcome. We generally need to provide a list of our folks to the show sponsors, so if you think you're going to come, please let us know. If you're not on the list, you may have to pay an admission fee to get into the show, but you can still come and run/operate trains.
See you in Pepperell, or Bedford or West Springfield!
