Meeting Announcement

The next meeting of the Amherst Railway Society is Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 8:00 p.m. at the Amherst Middle School.

            The program tonight will cover British Columbia on the British Columbia RR and the Canadian Pacific, then move to the eastern provinces and on to Maine to end our program. I will start with steam out of Yakima to Ellensburg, Washington. I hope you enjoy.

            Upon moving to Ohio, Dick started taking pictures and slides as an added hobby to his model railroading. His first pictures were taken with a Kodak Instamatic camera, then on an Argus C-3 (the Brick), then an S.L.R., and now as a novice with a Canon digital. His photography has taken him to British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec provinces along with our western states of Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon, and of course the eastern states.  Dick continues to learn more about photography from his many helpful friends.

A note from your ARS secretary

As your membership secretary, I have noticed that our database is sometimes out of date. Many of you mail me your changes of address, but don’t include a new telephone number. I would especially like to have people update their email addresses. If your email address has changed or if you have just gone on line for the first time, chances are I don’t have it, and I’d appreciate a quick message from you so I can add it to the database. The internet is a fast way to get important information out to people (those who want to receive it, of course), and we will be using it more as time goes on. Contact me at secyars@samnet.net

There is no meeting in February. The next meeting is March 20, 2007.

Big Railroad Hobby Show - January 27 & 28, 2007

Show time is fast approaching, and members of the society have been working hard behind the scenes to make this the best show ever. Please consider volunteering. It is not too late. For more info contact Doug Moore, volunteer coordinator at 413-436-9787, or mail in the form soon.
